The Community Development Programme offered by ABMA Education is designed for individuals passionate about driving meaningful change within communities. Programme Module guide

The Community Development qualifications are structured across three levels, each building upon the previous to deepen understanding and expertise:

Level 4 Diploma

This foundational level introduces core concepts and practices in community development:

  • Introduction to Community Development: Understand the components and dynamics of communities, and explore various development activities.
  • Local Challenges and Global Influences: Examine the challenges faced by local communities and the impact of global factors such as environmental and political influences.
  • Understanding Sociology, Community, and Ideology: Apply sociological concepts to community settings, exploring social theories related to communities and societal structures.
  • Working within the Community: Identify community needs, understand stakeholder roles, and analyse the functions of various community development organizations.
  • Promoting Investment in the Community: Develop strategies for engaging stakeholders, building collaborations, and attracting investments tailored to community needs.

Level 5 Diploma

At this intermediate level, learners delve deeper into specific aspects of community development:

  • Human Rights, Politics, and Legislation: Explore the legal and political frameworks that influence community development and human rights.
  • Managing Health in Communities: Understand health challenges within communities and strategies to address them effectively.
  • Social Enterprises: Learn about the role of social enterprises in driving community development and economic sustainability.
  • Managing Culture in Communities: Examine cultural dynamics and their impact on community cohesion and development initiatives.

Level 6 Diploma

The advanced level focuses on strategic and reflective aspects of community development:

Enrolment Information

To enrol in the Community Development Programme, prospective students should have:

  • A minimum of three A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
  • A Level 3 qualification in a related subject.
  • An internationally recognized equivalent qualification.

Mature learners with relevant experience may also be considered based on their career profile.

Course Fee Breakdown

The cost of the Community Development Programme under ABMA Education is structured per unit across different qualification levels. Each level comprises five units, with the following examination fees for 2025. It’s important to note that these fees pertain to examination costs only.

  • Level 4 Diploma: £39 per unit, totalling £195 for all five units.
  • Level 5 Diploma: £45 per unit, totalling £225 for all five units.
  • Level 6 Diploma: £50 per unit, totalling £250 for all five units.

Tuition fees

  • Level 4 Diploma: £1000 for all five unit.      
  • Level 5 Diploma: £1250 for all five units.
  • Level 6 Diploma: £1550 for all five units.

Tuition  covers lectures, instructor support, and access to resources.

Registration & Admin Fees

  • Centre registration fees: £50

Study Materials

Students will be given access to library resources once registration is completed.

Online/Blended Learning

  • Studying remotely, students will need reliable internet, PC or laptop.
