CPD Accreditation
Q What is CPD and why does it matter?
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. It refers to the ongoing process by which professionals maintain and develop their knowledge and skills after qualifying. Most UK healthcare regulatory bodies including the NMC, HCPC, and GMC require registrants to evidence regular CPD activity to maintain their professional registration. Completing CPD-accredited courses demonstrates a commitment to professional standards and up-to-date practice.
Q What is the CPD Certification Service?
The CPD Certification Service is an independent body that certifies learning activities as meeting recognised CPD standards. When a course carries CPD accreditation, it means the content, learning outcomes, and delivery have been independently assessed and verified. The CPD Certification Service is widely recognised by employers, professional bodies, and regulatory authorities across the UK and internationally.
Q Which TLSPH courses carry CPD accreditation?
Many of TLSPH’s short clinical and public health courses carry CPD accreditation, including courses on IV Therapy, Injection Technique, Sepsis Recognition, Safeguarding, Blood Result Interpretation, and ECG Interpretation, among others. CPD accreditation status is confirmed on each individual course page.
Q Can I use a TLSPH CPD certificate for professional revalidation?
Yes. CPD-certified certificates from TLSPH can be used to evidence your continuing professional development with regulatory bodies such as the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council), HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), and professional associations. We always recommend checking your specific regulatory body’s requirements to confirm how CPD hours should be recorded and evidenced.
ABMA Education
Q What is ABMA Education?
ABMA Education (Association of Business Management and Administration) is an internationally recognised awarding organisation that develops and certifies qualifications across a range of disciplines, including health and social care. ABMA Education qualifications are designed to meet international standards and are accepted by universities and employers in many countries worldwide.
Q Are ABMA Education qualifications internationally recognised?
Yes. ABMA Education qualifications are internationally portable and are accepted by universities and professional employers across the globe. This makes them particularly well-suited to international students or learners who plan to work or continue their studies outside the UK. We recommend confirming recognition directly with your intended institution or employer before enrolment.
Q Which TLSPH courses are accredited by ABMA Education?
TLSPH offers ABMA Education-accredited programmes in health and related subjects. The specific courses carrying ABMA accreditation are listed on our Courses page at thelondonschoolofpublichealth.com/courses. Each course page clearly states the relevant awarding or accreditation body.
Q Can an ABMA Education qualification help me progress to university?
ABMA Education qualifications may be accepted as entry requirements by some universities, particularly for international learners. Each university sets its own admissions criteria, so we recommend contacting the admissions department of your intended institution directly to confirm whether an ABMA Education qualification meets their entry requirements for your chosen degree programme.
NCFE Qualifications
Q What is NCFE?
NCFE is a national UK awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual (England), Qualifications Wales, and CCEA (Northern Ireland). NCFE qualifications are placed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and are widely recognised by employers, colleges, universities, and professional bodies across the UK.
