Kulvinder Kalsey

Kulvinder Kalsey is a Digital Learning and Development Manager in the Department of IT Services at TLSPH, with over 10 years of experience in higher education as an IT professional, lecturer, and trainer. Teaching is her passion, and she believes education is more than just a job. She is dedicated to creating a stimulating learning environment through innovative and effective teaching methods.

Throughout her career, Kulvinder has designed, developed, and delivered bespoke learning experiences for a diverse audience, including senior managers, academics, and students from various backgrounds at London universities. She helps undergraduate and postgraduate students feel confident using statistical software like SPSS, enabling them to successfully defend their dissertation results and analyses.

As the former ECDL/MOS Centre Manager at the University of East London, Kulvinder provided training on university IT and business systems, including Microsoft Office 365,  for all skill levels. She has also managed small IT projects and taught many different degree programs, such as MSc in Public Health, BSc in Business Management, BSc in Computer Science, and BSc in Health and Biomedical Science, working with groups ranging from one-on-one sessions to lectures for up to 500 students.

Kulvinder has an MSc in Business Information Systems, a BSc in Information Technology, and a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the University of East London. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is currently pursuing a “The Professional Doctorate in Data Science (D. DataSc)”. Kulvinder is also a published author; her book “Empowering Silver Surfers and Bridging the Digital Gap” discusses the challenges older people face with technology and how ICT can help them stay connected.

In addition to her work in education, Kulvinder supports Age UK’s (​​Age UK is the leading charity for older people) digital program, helping older individuals keep up with current technology trends. Her goal is to bridge the digital divide and ensure that older adults have the skills and confidence to use technology.

Kulvinder is also involved in mentoring programs at UK universities, where she provides guidance, advice, and support to her mentees. She serves as a role model, teacher, counsellor, and advocate, aiming to empower them to reach their full potential.

Kulvinder Kalsey is not just an IT professional; she is a dedicated educator and mentor, committed to fostering a culture of learning and growth in the academic community.
